INTRODUCTION
SRIJAN SOCIETY is Kanpur based a rural development organization formed by a group of
socially committed youths in 1991. It was formally registered in 1995 under the society
registration act 1860. The organization has established its identity and credentials as an
organization engaged in development process particularly with children, women, farmers and
disabled to give their due share in the process of development. Over a period SRIJAN SOCIETY
has spread its activities in various parts of the state and has directly impacting lives of 2-3
Lakhs people through various interventions and initiatives in 07 districts of Uttar Pradesh. We
are partnered with agency whose program directly impact on livelihood and well being of
marginalized section of society. We have networks of similar minded organization and people
across to support our effort in accelerating the initiative for the betterment of people.
GENESIS
Srijan means creation the idea to constitute SRIJAN SOCIETY was conceived in 1991 to help
needy people in surrounding areas voluntarily by connecting them in development process. It
was registered under Society Registration Act 21, 1860 in the year 1995 with the help of some
social workers and professionals.
SS carries out its activities around thematic areas:
o Women Empowerment
o Child Rights and Protection
o Health
o Sustainable agriculture & Livelihood Promotion
o Capacity building, Networking & Advocacy
OBJECTIVES
o Promoting and protecting rights and entitlements of children demonstrated interventions
and models
o Promoting and protecting women’s rights and entitlements with dignity and
participation in all sphere of life for empowered and violence free society.
o Creating models of sustainable agriculture and livelihood options to improve lives of
marginalized farmers.
o To improve and upgrade the living environment of the vulnerable sections especially
women & child of the society and to help them to gain the means of their livelihood
through various initiatives.
o To build strong network of likeminded non-governmental organizations, civil society
organization and stakeholders for development cause.
